Balto II: Wolf Quest is the direct-to-video sequel to Balto. The story mainly revolves around Balto's daughter, Aleu, and her quest to discover who she really is.

Plot

Balto (Maurice LaMarche) and his mate, Jenna (Jodi Benson) have a litter of six puppies. Five of which have the appearance of a Husky, while only the little pup, Aleu (Lacey Chabert), clearly looks like her father. When the time comes, the pups are adopted to other homes. Because of her appearance, Aleu is the only pup who isn't adopted by a human.

When Aleu becomes fully grown, a hunter mistakes her for a hungry lone wolf. She starts running towards the hunter, thinking he will adopt her. Before the hunter shoots her, Balto comes to her rescue. Aleu becomes confused by her father's actions, at which point Balto finally has to tell her about her wolf heritage. Aleu decides to run away to find out who she really is.

Balto sets off to find her. After meeting with creatures like a cunning fox, a trio of wolverines, and the raven from his dreams, Balto finds Aleu. The two encounter a wolf pack, who are led by an old wolf named Nava (David Carradine). Nava informs them that a new leader will soon be needed. The new leader will be "the one who is wolf but does not know." Everyone believes that this wolf is Balto. Since all the caribou left their lands, the wolves are hungry and don't know what to do. After struggles with Niju (Mark Hamill) and his three followers, Nuk (Joe Alaskey), Yak (Jeff Bennett), and Sumac (Rob Paulsen), the wolf pack decide to use the ice like a bridge and cross the sea. When Nava can't follow them, Aleu realizes her place as the leader of the pack.
