The fox is a trickster in Balto II: Wolf Quest. She is later shown to be the great white wolf, Aniu, in spirit form to guide her son, Balto. The fox is the one who teaches Balto to be cunning and aware of your enemy's tricks.
Biography
In her only appearance, the fox was tied down to a log overlooking a misty river. When Balto came around the area, she asked him to help her escape from the trap. Thinking that she was Aleu through the heavy mist, Balto came to help her, but was at first very cautious of the fox because he knew how cunning foxes could be. To persuade him to help her, the fox told Balto that she would help him to find his missing daughter, and, shocked, Balto asked how she knew about that. The fox said the raven told her. When Balto came closer to assist her in escaping the hunter's trap, the wily fox pushed Balto into the river below.
Being pulled by the current, Balto asked her why she did that, and the fox told him not to fight against the current. The river would lead him in the right direction of Aleu. When Balto did release himself with the river, the fox revealed her true self, the white wolf Aniu in disguise as a fox. The fox turns out to have helped Balto, since when she tricked him and forced him into the river, Balto caught the scent of Aleu and was able to continue his journey. Thus Aniu guided her son, Balto.
