New to BaltoWiki?

Newcomers have a variety of tools at their fingertips here at BaltoWiki. If you would like to read a short guide on getting started, click here. Otherwise you may begin editing whenever and wherever you wish!

BaltoWiki has a great selection of documents for newcomers to read. They cover a great deal of topics from simple things like reading and navigating all the way up to advanced editing techniques. The Help Resources are perfect for anyone wanting to learn more about how to use BaltoWiki. You can begin reading them here.

Help Desk (Community Portal discussion page)

If you have questions about BaltoWiki you can ask them at our Help Desk (also called the Community Portal discussion page). The Help Desk is where a lot of conversations are going on regarding how to use BaltoWiki. If you're a new user, you can start asking questions here and we will answer them. It is recommended that you read the Help Resources first, but if you have a specific question, feel free to ask it. Please read the Talk Page Guidelines when you visit the BaltoWiki Help Desk.

When you're ready to being editing, please follow these rules...

Nitpicky Stuff

In order to make BaltoWiki seem more unified and consistent, the administrators are going to be picky about some things.

• The title of the page in it's text should be bold. It is usually the first word. For example, in the Jenna article, the first word is bold.
• For character articles, you must use the Infobox Template for Characters. All significant words should be linked to their article in this box. (For example, Nome, Siberian Husky, Aleu. See Jenna's Infobox).
• In the article text, significant words should be linked to their appropriate article only once in the article text. The links should be made wherever the first instance of the significant word occur. (On Jenna's page, Balto is only linked one time in the first paragraph under the "Balto" headline).

Writing Character Pages

When writing a character page, please follow these guidelines:

For characters that appear in only one movie:

• Write a quote (optional)
• Write a little bit about the character (especially the relationship to Balto)
• Write an Appearance heading & paragraph
• Write a Personality heading & paragraph
• Write a Biography heading & paragraph
• For a perfect example, check out Steele's page, predominantly written by Katili

For characters that appear in multiple movies:

• Write a quote (optional)
• Write a little bit about the character (especially the relationship to Balto)
• Write an Appearance heading & paragraph
• Write a Personality heading & paragraph
• Write a Biography heading
• Write the title of the movie they first appear in like this: === Balto II: Wolf Quest ===
• Write the character's biography during that movie
• Write the title of the second movie they appear in (same format)
• Biography for that movie
• and so on
